Know what you're signing up for before you apply
Free trial and sample programs, credit cards, personal loans and job applications — the real requirements, the documents you need and how long each step actually takes.
What are you applying for?
Four areas, same approach: requirements first, steps second, no hype.
Free Trials & Samples
Product testing and sample programs: how selection actually works, what the brands ask for, why most applications go unanswered and how to keep your account eligible.

Five checks before you hit submit
The same five mistakes show up in almost every message we get. None of them cost anything to avoid.
-
1
Read the requirements before you submit
A declined credit application can show on your report for months. Two minutes of checking is cheaper than a hard inquiry.
-
2
Never pay a fee for a "guaranteed" spot
No legitimate sample program, card issuer or employer charges you to apply or promises approval for a fee.
-
3
Apply on the company's own domain
Type the address yourself if a link looks off. Look-alike pages exist exactly where people are in a hurry.
-
4
Compare the total cost, not the installment
With a loan, add up every payment plus fees. A smaller monthly number over more months is often the expensive option.
-
5
Keep a copy of everything you send
Save each document and the date you submitted it. It is the only thing that helps when an application disappears.
